how to share folders from ubuntu 8.04 to XP

I m trying to share files from ubuntu 8.04 over windows XP machine. The network is established fine. Both systems can ping each other. I can share files from windows and ubuntu sees them but reverse isnt happening.

I have configured samba config file as found in help files and also did the samba passwrd thing but still cant get the ubuntu system to show on XP machine.

Also , right click on a folder and share doesnt show anything about sharing over a network.

    someone plz help.

    things to check,
    1. confirm that samba is running...
    2. firewall have allowed access for samba, or disable it
    3. add printable = no , browsable = yes , writable = yes or no as you want. in smb, conf

keep workgroup same, but it wont matter.
