Have you tried downloading from a different mirror?
Try the following link and select a mirror near you. See if that gets better results. Also remember to burn at the lowest speed you can.

The main reason for a different mirrors is incase one of them is a little borked.

    4x should be fine.
I'm not to sure what else to try beside trying 8.04 instead 8.04.1 or a different burner / pc to do the burn with.

I had this issue once before is a cd that I had used for a while all I had to do was reburn and it was good once again.

I apologize for the previous post, it was meant for another topic.

But, here, I have the same problem with "supposedly bad" cds. I got a CD from Canonical, it doesn't show any problem when i ask to check the CD, but nevertheless it loads to a point and then gives a bunch of errors as in this thread.

I have tried burning CD's (About 7 so far), the lowest speed I could ask for with Nero was 16X. It that too fast? I tried both 8.04 and 8.04.1. Nothing works. How can I get Nero to burn at a lower speed?

My last try was with a CD created at 1x (using Imgburn), and it did not work either.

Only other thing I can think of really is trying another burner.

Or check the cables to you current burner for burning and or the one you are doing the install from.

Other then that I am out of ideas on the matter.
