What is in /dev/sda6, 7, 8 and 9 partitions? Delete all those partitions and create two new partitions, if possible. ext3 for / ( root) and SWAP partition....

    Sorry for the delay, I was a little busy. Those are the partitions where Debian and later Linux Mint was installed( which didn't boot anyway ). I got the Gparted Livecd. I'll let you know if I succeed.

    Will formatting the entire hard disk help? Will it remove bad sectors if there are any?

    Gparted didn't detect the partition-table either. Should I create a new partition-table?

    I created a new partition table and managed to install sabayon.
