setup a home network with the address range in 192.168.x.x series?

setup the ubuntu with the vista server ip as gateway ip
and a static ip for the system in the given range

    Thats it.
    Hope it works

I set ICS on my Vista and it automatically gave my Vista pc ip addr 192.168.0.1/24. I set my Ubuntu PC with dhcp coz with ICS all client pc must be set with dhcp-enabled and it gave my Ubuntu ip addr 192.168.0.244. I tried to ping my ubuntu from my vista and it gave me reply but when I ping my Vista from ubuntu it said "destination host unreachable" ?
Do I have to configure any file on ubuntu or install any packages ?
    Thx
