Swap Space (Ubuntu 8.04 LTS)
Ordered Ubuntu ver.8.04 LTS. Upon installing, I get to the "Installing System" Position then the message "The creation of swap space in partion #5 of SCSI1 (0,0,0) (ada) failed"
Thought I had a bad spot on HD, so I used second HD of a different Manuf. with the same results.
Installing on 1,000 mh AMD athalon with 736 Meg. Mem.
Can anyone stear me in the right direction?
The installation CD is one sent via mail. I did not download and burn it .

hi welcome to the forums you can use gparted GParted -- Welcome too create the required partitions you need think swap must be 1.5x your ram size

Open Terminal and execute this
Post output here.Code:sudo fdisk -l
GParted Partition Manager is available in Ubuntu LiveCD too. Look for it in Administration Menu.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
