    command to see running deamons

    Hi team

    I am new to Ubuntu environment ,what is command to see running daemons,start and stop manually and permanent just like RHEL chkconfig .

    ps ax will show you everything that's running.

    The simplest way to switch off daemons permanently in a Debian-based distro like Ubuntu is to change the daemon's Sxx link in /etc/rc2.d to a Kyy link, where yy = 100-xx. Don't just remove the link, or it will get put back again next time you update.

    command to see running deamons

    sysv-rc-conf command is same as chkconfig command,u can install this utility by using apt-get install sysv-rc-conf.Then follow as man pages.
