    Hey TaZ, I chose Fat32 just because it is what I have used in the past. It probably wasn't the best choice. I could just save my data to an external drive and re-format the drive however I am going to try and solve it first with your help in case anyone else runs into it.

    I will let you all know how it goes. Thanks for your help.

    I wrote down exactly how I partitioned the drives but I can't find the darn paper.
    I checked the output from one of the commands you had me do and believe this to be the drive that doesn't show up:
    Disk /dev/sdc: 74.3 GB, 74355769344 bytes
    255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9039 cylinders
    Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
    Disk identifier: 0x0007bc34

    I remember the storage drive was the third drive and there were three partitions; swap, root and home. Sorry I couldn't get back sooner. I worked a couple of late ones.

    when I enter
    Code:
    sudo mount -t vfat /dev/sdc5 /media/sdc5 -o defaults,umask=0
    I get
    mount point /media/sdc5 does not exist
    and the same with whatever combo I try.

    I may just need to save my data to an external and reformat the drive. This time I will use NTFS and write down the exact partitions again but keep it in a safe place.

    Is the best way to re-format the drive to use the install disk again?

    Thanks
