Ubuntu / Active Directory DHCP issue
I am having a complicated issue involving my ubuntu file server bradcasting discover packets to the LAN that my DHCP server (DC) is on. I do not get a DHCP offer anymore. I used to just fine. MY other Linux machines are still getting IP addresses fine. I even restarte the network serivce on them.
I keep my Ubuntu box on the same LAN as my DHCP server usually. However sometimes I put it in the DMZ with my web server and my mail server. When I did this in the past I would just un plug from the trusted LAN and plug into the DMZ. Then I would do a /etc/init.d/networking restart command and I would get the RESERVED IP address that my DHCP hands out to it when it is in the DMZ.
I am not sure what the issue is. I thought maybe that this was due to the router not relaying however it is because the other machines get an IP still.
It has to be something to do with the fact that my Ubuntu box is being plugged in from the trusted, then it releases the trusted IP, then performs a discover requesting a new lease with an IP from the DMZ.
Maybe this is a MS DHCP issue.
