Have you tried Gnash player or swfdec-gnome?
if its a Flash file it may run on these..

You can get those on Synaptic easily

This is the Voxware Metasound codec, sometimes used in .flv files (a common flash container format).

Supposedly, any Xine based frontend (like Totem or Kaffiene) will play this file as long as you have the w32codecs package installed.

This comes to next stumbling block, w32codecs was often on the same repositories as illegal packages like libdvdcss. The result is that it is not available in the regular repositories or really any in the US or anywhere else where the media industry has its talons hooked. I did find some older packages off shore that should work.

Add the following lines to the bottom of your /etc/apt/sources.list (you can sudo pico, nano, joe, whatever you like best):
    Code:
    deb http://mirror.ubuntulinux.nl gutsy-seveas extras
    deb-src http://mirror.ubuntulinux.nl gutsy-seveas extras
    then update your package list

    sudo apt-get update

Apt will complain and call the source untrusted. Indeed, it is*, but apt will still add the packages to the list just the same. After that, you should be able to use synaptic to install the w32codecs package.

    * If it makes you feel better, it passed a virus scan by Avast4 Home

Neither Gnash player nor swfdec-Gnome are included in Synaptic.
I already have w32 codecs installed and functioning (other flash/real etc. videos play o.k.)
Tried installing swfdec-Gnome and then Gnash from source and got seriously stuck in dependency-issues. Now I cant give it any more time, my solution.....Windose..Riva player...click....play.
Thank you both for your help

gnash and swfdec-gnome 'are' included in synaptic..
but if you cant find it you can get .deb with dependacies here

    gnash

    swfdec-gnome

or add in your software sources so your synaptic can easily install it.
To add this in software sources add
deb Index of / intrepid main
    in software sources of Ubuntu
