Connecting to wireless with WUSB54Gv4 HELP!!
I'm a total n00b. I need some real help here, I have this card, the WUSB54Gv4, it's a usb card, and it works for me great in windows, (I'm using it now
) but I can't get it to connect in linux! I converted the driver with NDISwrapper, and NDISGtk. I installed this stupid network manager and now the old one won't install back! I don't really mind, as long as I can get it to work I am happy. thanks,

I'm having the same problem with the WUSB54GC. Are you pointing ndiswrapper to a directory containing netr73.inf and all the other files, or just the .inf itself?

Well, for mine, I found the file rt2500usb.inf and so it's just pointing to that.

I wish I could...
As Waterhead pointed out in another thread, not all WUSB54G devices have the same chipset in them. I have not found the v4 on any websites, and I am confused about your use of the rt2500 dirver.
I can't test it on my machine as the USB ports are going out, but the driver I found for the WUSB54GC manufactured in July 2008, is labled netr73.inf on the accompanying CD-ROM and Ralink calls it rt73.inf on their website. I have tried both, with no success, but again I tihnk that this may be due to the MoBo problem my particular laptop has where all USB/PCI devices fail. Have you tried that driver?
Usually for me, the best results come from using winRAR or 7Zip to unpack the Windows Executable and extract the Drivers directory to my /home directory and then I install the driver with ndiswrapper. That may work for you, and in fact I hope it does.
