    Need help with wireless connection

Okay - first of all I'm a complete n00b. Second I did try to do some research and came up empty handed.

    So here is my problem:

I have a wireless PCMCIA card by linksys model # WPC54GS Ver. 2 and it won't connect to my wireless router. It recognizes the card, but won't recognize the network.

So I know I probably need to post some info, but what do I need to post?

I'm using Linux Mint 6 "Felicia" based on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex, Linux 2.6.27, Gnome 2.24 and Xorg 7.4

    Learning but need help. Thanks.

Now I got the b43 fwcutter ans the drivers to install the firmware, extracted it and tried to install it and at the last minute gave me this error:

    dreamscape@Magi ~/broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5/driver $ sudo ../../b43-fwcutter-011/b43-fwcutter -w lib/firmware wl_apsta.o
Sorry, the input file is either wrong or not supported by b43-fwcutter.

Okay, I realized I typed the filename wrong and when I did I got this:

    dreamscape@Magi ~/broadcom-wl-4.150.10.5/driver $ sudo ../../b43-fwcutter-011/b43-fwcutter -w lib/firmware wl_apsta_mimo.o
    [sudo] password for dreamscape:
    This file is recognised as:

I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, you could be making a typo or it could be something else. Anyone else have any ideas?

Ok, I think I see it now.
    sudo ../../b43-fwcutter-011/b43-fwcutter -w lib/firmware wl_apsta_mimo.o
    should be
    sudo ../../b43-fwcutter-011/b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware wl_apsta_mimo.o
Notice the / in front of /lib is mssing from your command.

HA!! It extracted. Now it still won't connect to the router though.

Are you using the icon in the system tray? I believe it's network manager.
did you get the firmware to install with no errors? After this has all been done, post the output of this command
    Code:
    dmesg

Okay, no problems in the firmware install, and the network manager recognizes the card, but not the network. Nothing.

The router is setup to broadcast the SSID but it's not picking it up.
