shrank ubuntu partition, aded xp partition, now none of my ntfs drives are recognized

Alright I shrank my Ubuntu partition, to add an XP partition. That went smoothly. But now none of my ntfs partitions are being recognized by ubuntu. I have each ntfs partition identified by uuid in fstab to solve a previous problem I had. What I want to know is this: Why the hell cant ntfs 3g not freak out whenever I add any drives???????? This may be the only reason I need to just scrap linux and just go with a fortified version of XP!!!!! I WANT TO BE ABLE TO USE MY 2 OTHER NTFS DRIVE AND IM SICK AND TIRED OF MESSING AROUND WITH FSTAB WHENEVER ANY CHANGE OCCURS!!!!

Also why does my flash drive always mount as a different device id every time my system reboots. Is there a less retarded way to manage drives and device id's and maybe set static device id so my flash drives don't occupy my main drive device id?

Post the output of fdisk -l and cat /etc/fstab here and maybe someone can help figure out why the ntfs partitions are not being seen.

For the flash drives issue, check this howto for info that might help:
