Webcam help...
I cant seem to get my webcam working properly with any instant messaging software. It seems to work on "photobooth" or whatever but the instant messaging programs I have aren't finding any driver. Its a simple phillips webcam that should be plug n play in most situations.
anyways. if anyone can help me out. itd be much appreciated. thanks

I do not use web-cams, at least not yet, however, a fellow Linux practitioner pointed me to the following link during a recent discussion. It may be useful for your problem as it deals with Phillips webcams specifically.

Androps I have a Creative Live Webcam, the kind that perches on top of yer screen. I havent had any luck with it. I just installed two days ago.

This guy's written a lot of webcam drivers for Linux. Maybe your's is supported. Her's the link...

Driving Miss Linux
Hey thanks Sag. Ill try it. The main problem taht Im seeing is this..My webcam is operable. I use it in windows all the time. But when I boot into Linux(Ubuntu) It doesnt seem to "find" it. It alwaays says..(no cameras) Sometimes when I boot I get wierd error messages about USBs. For some reason it is cherry picking which usbs its gonna "honor". But I wll definately try that site. Thanks.
