Hello. I work on solid edge quite a lot. Couple of days ago I came up with the idea that I need to lear to use linux. So now I am wandering whether there is somekind of software that would let me use windows software? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!
You can check out WINE, as it will allow you to use some Windows software under Linux.oz

You can also run a virtual machine with Windows in it under linux. This is slower but far more compatible.
I suggest VirtualBox because it's open (virtually free) and easy to set up.

Power down the hardrive ( you know the on/off switch on the back), and unplug the usb cable for a couple mintues. Replug in the usb cable and then power up the External hardrive. It should auto mount then. At least mine does. When I shut down the computer. I unmount my external hardrive. Flip the power switch to off. I can then leave USB cable pluigged in. Power down Desktop. When i restart, all I need to mount the external hardrive after logging in and loading Desktop, is to flip the power switch on and it auto mounts. Hope that is clear enough for you. Good luck
