    Welcome to the forums!

You can check out WINE, as it will allow you to use some Windows software under Linux.

You can also run a virtual machine with Windows in it under linux. This is slower but far more compatible.

I suggest VirtualBox because it's open (virtually free) and easy to set up.

So WINE is not for free?

D-cat, I want to give up windows for good.

Just after instaling Ubuntu first problem appeared - wifi card doesn't work. Any advices on that?

I don't use it at all, but it's my understanding that it can be freely downloaded. Maybe someone else will respond if that's incorrect, but the WINE website should make it clear one way or the other.

    Best of luck with it!

WINE is free of charge. Absolutely, unequivocally free. Most software available for Linux is this way.

What kind of wireless card do you have?

Icon appears in Places>Computer. Mounting does not work... I get an error. It said that I can use 'force' function. But I don't know how to do that

Power down the hardrive ( you know the on/off switch on the back), and unplug the usb cable for a couple mintues. Replug in the usb cable and then power up the External hardrive. It should auto mount then. At least mine does. When I shut down the computer. I unmount my external hardrive. Flip the power switch to off. I can then leave USB cable pluigged in. Power down Desktop. When i restart, all I need to mount the external hardrive after logging in and loading Desktop, is to flip the power switch on and it auto mounts. Hope that is clear enough for you. Good luck
