Pidgin notify but not open window

    Hi All,

I want to know if I can get pidgin to act like the old ICQ used to where a window wouldn't come up but instead it would only flash an icon in the corner of your screen when you have a new message.

On the same note I'd like windows to close after I send a message. (Again an old ICQ feature that I really liked).

This way it's more like sending quick emails than having a chat window open all the time. If this isn't possible I'm wish listing it on launchpad

Right click on the icon in the status bar, go to preferences, on the interface tab change 'hide new IM conversations' to 'always'. Right click on the icon again, and select 'Blink on new message'

I think the closest to this is if you enable the message notification plugin (right click on icon, select plugins, it's about half way down the list), you can get it to raise the im window as notification, and 'remove when message sent' will lower it again. This will undo the above behavior of 'blink only' though.

This way it's more like sending quick emails than having a chat window open all the time. If this isn't possible I'm wish listing it on launchpad
