Did installer throw any error during installation?
Press any key at startup. Does GRUB Menu having Windows OS and Ubuntu entries appear?
Boot up from Ubuntu LiveCD, open Terminal and execute this :
Post output here.Code:sudo grub find /boot/grub/stage1 find /grub/stage1
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Ubuntu has been installed in second harddisk. Set that disk as a First Boot Device in BIOS.

Ubuntu has been installed in Second disk but GRUB confs are installed in MBR of First Disk. This setup doesn't work in a few machines. Its GRUB/BIOS compatibility problem.
Post the output of this
* Its small L in fdisk -l.Code:sudo fdisk -l
