Angry Theres nothing in my boot folder!

    Hey there,

I'm having an issue with my boot folder. I open it up and there's only 2 things in it, something called "map" and something else called "vmlinuz." The odd thing is that my system still boots just fine. However I need to edit my /boot/grub/menu.lst file Obviously I'm going to have an issue when it's not in the boot folder. NOTHING is on the boot folder except for those 2 stupid things! I don't know where it would have gone, although I did just so a fresh install. Could this be the cause of the problem? Thanks in advance for the help! I've been trying to resolve this for a couple of days now over multiple forums, sorry if i get upset...

EDIT: yes I did check the /etc folder for it.

    Hi and Welcome !

Which version of Ubuntu are you using? vmlinuz is kernel only.
    Execute this
    Code:
    ls -l /boot
    uname -a
    cat /etc/lsb-release
    Post output here.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
