    [SOLVED] Ubuntu PC Connecting Remotely to a Windows PC

    Is this possible? I did a search on the forums to get instructions on how to set it up on Ubuntu, but i couldn't find anything about remotely accessing a windows pc from my laptop (which is running Ubuntu). any ideas?

    applications->internet->terminal server client

    if you prefer to run it via command line, the command rdesktop will allow you to connect

    There are various ways, it depends an what you're trying to do. In desktop remote administration, rdesktop is certainly one option. Another might be to run a VNC server on the windows computer and connect via tightvnc.

    If you're trying to access file shares on the Windows computer, then you need to run a Samba client. This can be done from the command line, but it's better to use a gui here, like lin-neighborhood (or I think it's pyNeighborhood in Ubuntu). If you're running in KDE, you can use konqueror with the url line smb://[user@](IP.Address.ofWindows.computer)/[Share] I don't know if this works in nautilus, I've never tried it.
