This only started since i upgraded to Edgy.

Edgy? Why in the world are you still on Edgy? What program are you using to send emails?
Bodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17
Dell Studio 17, Intel Graphics card, 4 gigs of RAM, E17

after the upgrade i had a lot of problems which still need to be fixed, this is a recent one that's occurred.
I am not very good at linux.
