Format partitions?
Hi,
I have two disk partitions in my laptop: in the first one I have win xp installed and in the second one Ubuntu 8.04. GRUB is installed in the first one. However I am unable to use Ubuntu since I tried to upgrade to 8.10 so I've saved my documents and I've decided to format the disk partition where I have Ubuntu and to install Ubuntu 8.10 there. However I don't know how to format a disk partition. Thanks.

One quick and easy way to format is to use the PartedMagic LiveCD. It's a clone of Partition Magic so is generally considered easy for new Linux users that don't want to use the command line for partition work.
