using 32 bit ubuntu with 64bit amd

I was wondering if it is possible to use 32bit ubuntu with an amd 64?

I know you can with windows so I'm pretty sure you could do the same with ubuntu.

I already have 64 bit ubuntu duel-booting with windows on my machine but the 64 bit ubuntu is giving me alot of problems lately and I wanted to know how to swap the two ubuntu OSs without losing any data.

Yes, the 32-bit version should work fine on a 64-bit capable CPU.
