At least Wired should work out of the box, since Realtek is a very common chip set.

Wireless will require the ath5k driver (doesn't come with Ubuntu at the minute). See the following post.

Apparently there's no universal driver for this yet. Some programs have their own backends that can detect and use it. There's some reference to "Cheese," but I guess that's been a crap shoot since Hardy. They did have a suggestion to try.

sudo gedit /etc/modules

add a line to the list:

uvcvideo

save it and write

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/options

add a line

options uvcvideo quirks=2

[Save] then reboot the computer and skype should recognize the webcam
w/o any intervention.

I don't know if that'll help any other programs as I don't have one of these to play with. Good luck!

I have Ultimate edition 2.0 instaled its based on ubuntu 8.10
and i solved my problems like this:

Test camera with luvcview its in the repositorys.
you have to start it from commandline just type luvcview and it starts.

For wifi i used ndiswapper with yhe windows driver for the wificard

and it works fine for me no troubles.

Now this the driver for AR5007 wifi card if you have one outher than this one search for .inf driver for your wificard.
