    fiesty upgrade

I installed Fiesty as it was the only one I could get to work on this power pc, I now want to upgarde to anything newer, but I did alt+f2 and upgrade-manager -d, and it said that their are now upgrades, is it too out of date and if so, should installing from disc now be easier as it's Linux to Linux, not mac to Linux?
I could do woth help as sud-apt doesn't even work on this.
    Thanks, Phil

fresh installation is most likely the best bet, but I have heard some success stories upgrading incrementally, 7.04->7.10, 7.10->8.04, etc

    Failed prerequisits

I tried to upgrade my Fiesty but got this:
    Getting upgrade prerequisites failed

The system was unable to get the prerequisites for the upgrade. The upgrade will abort now and restore the original system state.

Please report this as a bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport.

I'm not sure how to do that but more importantly, don't really care, and just want to upgrade, do i have to download a Gutsy Gibbon and go up from there?

if you can, you're better off to just download the newest version and do a fresh install
