    Question Ubuntu Installation

    Hi,

I have installed Windows Vista and Ubuntu on my laptop.. When I try to login to Ubuntu the system keyboard and mouse get locked.. I am not able to enter my user name and password details.. But sometimes I could login.. What is the problem actually?.. Are Windows Vista and Ubuntu compatible?..

    Thanks..

There should be no problem running Vista and Ubuntu together on the same machine (in fact, I'm running from a machine configured like that right now!).

If you press "Caps Lock" do you see the Caps Lock light come on? What happens if you press ctrl-alt-F1?

Pressing of "Caps Lock" or "ctrl-alt-F1" has no effect since my keyboard gets locked once the 'user name' text box appears..

Do you have USB keyborad and mouse? Do keyborad and mouse work fine on booting up in Command Line Mode?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
