Installing a .msi file on Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10

Hi, im really really new to using any form of linux and I was wondering how I install a .msi file. I have wine, and I tried a command posted on the ubuntuforums but at the moment, for some reason everytime I try and post a thread, it wont let me.

Anyway, when I go into Wine and try and allow it to run the .msi, wine only allows .exe and .exe.so.

Anyone got a command I can use to install this? Also on one of the threads on the ubuntuforums website, it did have a SteamInstaller.exe.gz but wouldnt let me download it because everytime I clicked on it, the website gave me an error code, the same thing happens when I log in too.

    Thanks in advance
