Just downloaded winff. It does not give me an option to convert to avi format. I tried converting the mkv file to dvd format and it created an mpg file with zero kb size. Am I doing something wrong?

I believe avidemux can do it. Ubuntu -- Details of package avidemux in intrepid

I have come across this site which provided details of how to convert mkv to avi using mencoder. Worked pretty well. Heres the link.

Hi everybody,
I have been using PiTiVi and it works quite good. You have just to choose the output format to avi, and thats it.
