    VirtualBox

    Two things:

    1. Virtual box isn't seeing my external hard drive, any clue how I can get it to?

    2. Where is Virtualbox file stored? I'll be formatting my computer later and would prefer just copying stuff back over vs. reinstalling the OS in Virtualbox

    Thanks all

    1. Virtualbox OSE can't use USB plugged into the host. In such a case you will need the binary from the Vbox webiste and you will need to enable usb in the preferences.

    2. By default they are under ~/.VirtualBox

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Though alternatively you can set up your /media directory as a Vbox host file share (shows up as a network drive in the client). Works good for me. Check the docs.
