I'm a linux noob and need help in creating a VPN connection

So the problem is... The Add button is greyed out. Just what in the penguin's world??? I'm an admininstrator so i should have the permission for that, right? Or, is it some sudo command? Please. I want to finally forget windows, but must keep it since i can't establish that connection.

If you are connecting to a Windows VPN (PPTP) using Network Manager you must install the appropriate packages

Run this command in a terminal "sudo apt-get install network-manager-pptp" - you don't need the quotes. Once this has installed it's bits (it will also install pptp-linux) you may need to reboot.

You can also just find the vpn software that you use and download direct if they have source. I VPN into my old school to remote connect to computers in my office. I use Cisco's VPN client to do it, I just downloaded the source code directly.

Ubuntu 8.10: How To Connect To a Microsoft VPN | splat dot

You might need to uncomment some repos:

    sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

I just uncomment everything other than the CDROM request one (first one, otherwise every time you try to install stuff it'll ask for the Ubuntu cd rom)

    after

    sudo apt-get update

    then follow that website
    Bodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17
Dell Studio 17, Intel Graphics card, 4 gigs of RAM, E17
