    Programming Pic's on linux

Hello I am new to Linux and the reason I want to try it is because guys on the Microchip forms were talking about being able to use Linux insteat of buying another operating system.
So far I have Ubuntu 8.10 up and running and I like it. If I can get the diklap working with a Pickit 2 this will be my new choice operating system. I have played around with some of different programs ubuntu has and I know I got a lot of studying to do, no problem.
But if there is someone else out there who has a Pickit 2 up and running on Linux I sure could use some help.
    Thanks for any info
