    Epiphany game stuck on desktop

So I am quickly looking through the games in this 8.04 os and I click the " epiphany " game. The game sits in the middle of my screen and the only thing that functions in it is to minimize it. Strange stuff!!

I don't know anything about epiphany, but if you need to kill a stubborn program, it may be terminal time.

ps -A will list all running apps by process id number (pid)

then use kill [pid#] to close the program. If it fails to close in a few seconds, you can use kill -9 [pid#] which should terminate the process. If even that fails for anything other than a permissions error, then there's another process that it's child to holding it hostage, you'll have to find and kill that process to close the program (example, xmms spawning timidity to play a midi file, timidity processes cannot be killed until xmms is closed. Can also happen in wine with some cheap Windows programs).

I got rid of it by restarting my computer. It bothered me enough though to run a rkhunter scan that indicated the following seven warnings to me:

    usr/bin/curl
    usr/bin/size
    usr/bin/strings
    checking for passwd file changes
    checking for group file changes
checking /dev for suspicious file types
checking for hidden files and directories

Do these seven warnings indicate the existence of foreign software in my Ubuntu os?

When you say the only thing that functions, are you talking about the whole game or just the Window controls (minimize, close etc)?

Many games ignore the close button and make you do things their way. In the case of Epiphany, you press ESC then Space to return to the menu and select quit and press return to lose the annoying message!

I don't think you have a rootkit there as they look more like messages that indicate what the program is doing. I'm sure someone will be able to correct me if I am wrong.

Elija nothing at all worked except the minimize icon.
What do rkhunter warnings mean? Do they mean that an infection is present or that the program is vulnerable to infection/? I do not even know where to look to see if Ubuntu's firewall is functioning..

OK, the game is keyboard only - apart from the minimise button. Can you try the up and down arrow keys on the menu?

    Great stuff!

I'm not familiar with rkhunter but they look like "I'm doing this" messages to me.
