Drivers for Dell

I am currently in a college course OS1 Network Operating Systems. We are doing a lab in the class with a Dell Optiplex 755 and are going to run Ubuntu 8.1 and I am wandering where to find any of the drivers for this system. I already contacted Dell and they do not support Linux on the Optiplex computer system. If anyone can help me I would greatly appriciate it. Mainly looking for a NIC driver.

Are you having network problems? Most drivers are included in Linux distributions. If you could boot with the LiveCD and tell us what kind of hardware it uses (lspci) that would help.

i am a dell user and have had no problems at all running ubuntu so try it it's the only way of finding out.
ubuntu has most of the drivers in its kernel,certainly for nic
if there are any problems then this is what this forum is for
