why amarok 2 needs extra downloads now?

    Hi All,

I have installed amarok 2 probably about 25 times now. Until last week I would just download amarok 2 from the repo, download ubuntu-restricted-extras and my mp3's would play no problem.

Now I have to download amarok, then it doesn't recognize my mp3's unless I download libxine1-ffmpeg

why do I have to download this extra thing now? Thanks all

Sounds like new dependencies, or dependencies that they forgot to include as such.

That happens sometimes with packages, but you can probably get an exact reason for the dependencies or failure to include them from the person that packages Amarok for the Ubuntu repository. You might need to file a bug report.
