    VirtualBox woes

    Hi All,

So I left VB to go back to VM Player....anyone try VB for Netflix streaming....it's just bad. I upped my memory to 1 gig and my video memory to 64 megs (shouldn't even need close to that) and still jumped way too much, VM player has no problem at all with netflix streaming....

I was trying to support open source but I only use XP for two things, one of which is netflix, so to have a program that doesn't work well with it...couldn't do it

Thought I would rant a bit

I just discovered glxinfo, turns out what I thought was a marginal video card was in fact an out of date mesa version.

So I'm having to use virtualbox for OpenSuse (can't figure out how to use VM Player with it). I have it setup but....I can't get full screen even with virtualbox addons installed. Any ideas why? Thanks all

If your gast is XP,VISTA you have to install the guest additions than you can go full screen also chek out the new version of virtualbox 2.1.4 it supports OpenGL 3d option.

nope not XP or Vista, I use XP with VM Player already for Netflix only....Virtual Box with netflix streaming is HORRIBLE, I don't know why but it's definitely a draw back, it's one of two reasons why I still use Windows so...I'm not going to settle for virtual box when it doesn't work right

this program looks great but unfortunately it only ports netflix over to Mac as of now. I downloaded it so maybe by version 1 they'll have it available for linux I doubt it though, the piracy locks that netflix put on are pretty strict

I think you can add the boxee repos and install. I don't have Netfilx so I've never attempted to install. Try this:

    Code:
    deb http://apt.boxee.tv intrepid main

Ah, okay. Sorry, I was under the impression that the 32-bit version for Ubuntu already supported Netflix.

I've been waiting for them to release 64bit native version to install for my sister on her laptop so she can watch the streaming Netflix. Hopefully they have support for it by then.
