How to install Ubuntu Linux without using CD?

Hi I'm interested in running Ubuntu Linux without a CD.

Only "CD" Like material I have is a Portable Hard Drive that I can access through USB

Also I dont want to partition my hard drive into different sections... meaning I dont want to keep Vista. I just want to run Ubuntu Linux and erase Vista once and for all.

    Hope someone could help plz

    check out PenDriveLinux
There is a piece of software on there which will allow you to extract the .iso image and make the disk bootable. It worked with my usb stick so it should work with your HDD.
Anyway hope this helps and good luck.
