    How to add startup programs in sessions?

    I am following directions to set up my Ubuntu Installation (8.10) for Netbook Remix. As part of the directions it asks me at the end to:

    Add netbook-launcher (if using 8.10) to your startup programs. Go to System>Preferences>Sessions and add entry for this command.

    I went to sessions to do it and see Netbook Launcher listed and selected to add it but it prompts me with the following menu:

    Name
    Command
    Comment

    What do I put in these blanks so that I can set this up? For Command it gives me the option to browse.

    Hi there,

    These are set up in the same way as icons are.

    Name = Name that will be displayed if the icon has the mouse held over it.
    Comment = Same as name
    Command = the path to (and arguments for) the command that you want to run.

    Should be able to get an example by right-clicking one of the icons in your menu bar and selecting properties.

    In your instance you won't be creating an icon, but the format is the same.

    The command will probably be something like (replace the path to the executable as required)

    /usr/bin/netbook-launcher

    or something similar.
