Ubuntu comes with Gnome by default, so that is what you have unless you installed KDE.
Try running uname -a for some info regarding your system.oz

I would suggest you check both and decide yourself. There are a lot Desktop Envrionments and Window Managers are available and pick the one that you like most.

I agree with devils casper that you need to try both and decide for yourself because the one that you think is better is the better one for you. Some like KDE better and some like Gnome better. It will probably always be that way until we all think alike.
