i kinda messed up. could anyone help me?

while trying to install python IDLE i kinda just decided to redo the whole installing python thing and decided to remove python. this was a bad idea because it removed EVERYTHING! now when i turn on my computer it just goes to the terminal as a full screen. i tried to just reinstall UBUNTU with the CD but it gives me an error and wont let me do anything. anyt insight or help on this would be very much appreciated.

    Hi and Welcome !

    Try to re-install Ubuntu-desktop package.
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
