Scan IP's on wireless
Hi All,
Is there an easy tool to scan IP's on my own network? It'd be even better if I can see bandwidth use per IP address....my friend has a suspicion someone is using his encrypted wireless network...I said it's unlikely but he wants to be sure. Thank sallBodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17

nmap or zenmap will find them if they are connected with the router while your running it as long as they are using the private IP subnet that you use. The simple solution would seem to be make sure that router only handles one subnet addressing scheme and then run it intermittently looking for oddball IPs.

Depending on the router, there may be an option in the internal configuration page of the router that allows you to see any MAC address connecting to the network. I know Linksys has one. Not so much on the bandwidth monitoring, though.
