Can't install program! error help!
Hey, I am new to linux (currently been using it for 2 hours) I have succesfully installed steam and then installed counter strike, it works great! so I wanted to see how well linux would work with a newer game, so I install race driver grid.
Now, when I try select the setup.exe file for grid, this is the error I get.

This is a wine issue, and wine does have major limitations when it comes to DirectX based 3D games.
WineHQ - Race Driver : GRID 1.2 DVD
Not very helpful as far as setting it up... I don't have grid so I can't help you beyond here. Sorry. Maybe you can try another setup and launch frontend like PlayOnLinux ?

Cedega specialise in porting games to Linux under wine. They have a pretty active forum which you can search, but as far as I can gather you need to subscribe to their service in order to post on the forum, which is a bit naff for newcomers. However there should be a data base of successfully ported games. Also check out crossover games, and off shoot of crossover office, again an application that uses wine and tweaks/configures it so you don't have to. Its a one off payment, but I think it has a fair price.
