Wireless disconnects (AWLH 3028)
Hi,
I am very new to linux world and I installed ubuntu 8.10(intrepid) lastweek. I also installed ndiswrapper. I have Airlink 101 Awlh3028 pci wireless card. I ran ndiswrapper and then picked teh net8185.inf file from the winxp folder of the cd that came with the card.
I was able to connect to the net without any problem. but connection fails after some time, and that has varied from 30mins to as long as 12 hrs.
I then saw a thread online where it said to use the net8185.inf for win98 and that worked for the logest duration like 12hrs and then got disconnnected. Not sure what the problem is.
sudo lshw -C network resulted in this output. There was some more. I just copied the wireless part of it and pasted here.
I also came across the type of security encryption to connect to the router. I have use WEP, then WPA and now I just include the mac address of the pci card to access the router. I really have tried everything that i can with the very miniscule knowledge of linux that i now have..*-network
