Welcome to the forums NazGhuL
You should check that BIOS is set to boot from CD before the hard drive. You can use Supergrub to restore Windows boot code to the MBR ... this usually allows you to then use the XP startup CD.

J183,
Could you elaborate on how to use subergrub to fix xp mbr?
I will be needing to do this to my other 40gb hard drive. i am using a 20gb now with ubuntu 8.10, only. No xp on the 20gb, the 40gb has xp only with problems.
I use only one hd at a time.

Using Supergrub to fix the Windows boot - more detail
CaptSkip ...
Boot from the Supergrub CD and you get a number of options.
Try the
option first. If that does not work then try theWIN => MBR & !WIN!
then selectChoose language & help
after pressing enter a couple of times you should be able to selectEnglish Supergrub disk
thenWindows
There is also an option toFix boot of Windows
which you can also try.Activate partition of Windows
The above will write Windows bootloader code to the MBR and set the Windows partition active, which may fix the Windows boot issue. If these steps do not work they will have replaced Grub in the MBR and should allow you to boot from the Windows CD.
