[SOLVED] Shutdown options
Hi All,
I am having a weird issue with my shutdown options. I'm running Intrepid, usually the shutdown options are in the top right (then when I log into pidgin the options add pidgin options such as away, etc...) but now, those options are gone. The only way to shutdown the computer is to go to system then Shut Down...
How can I get it back in the previous spot? (Oh yeah, I also just reinstalled, I tried alpha 5 for Jaunty, too buggy, went back to Intrepid and I did format)Bodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17

I have to bump this but I have a bit more:
completely fresh install.
here is a picture after doing a few updates:

then I rebooted and back to this:

It wasn't one of the updates that made the problem because before I did "something" (no idea what), there weren't the shut down options, then i checked again a few minutes later and they were there as seen in the picture. Then reboot, and back to none....really irritatingBodhi 1.3 & Bodhi 1.4 using E17

I'm afraid that I only got a pair of 404's on the links to your screenshots.
But I *think* I know what you mean. There is a shutdown applet for the gnome panel (or more simply 'the panel').
Right click on any part of your top panel and choose 'add to panel'. From the list choose 'log out'. I know its only described as logout, but its the good old shutdown thingy as well. When it appears on your panel you can relocate it by right clicking on it and choosing 'move' when you do this your cursor will change into a little hand. Just slide the applet along the panel to where you want it to live and left click. This will fix it to where you want it to live.

Yeah maybe he's talking about the applet in the panel. Just right-click on the panel>Add to Panel>look for "User Switcher" and then click Add.
Take care and God bless.

that's weird..I just clicked both links and they worked ....lol but anyways, I figured it out with a little google action. I had disabled the power manager which I guess is needed for the shutdown options in the fast user switch applet. Thanks all....not sure about those links though
