Is there a way to change my root password without re-installing Ubuntu?
I think I would now and then like to change my Ubuntu root password for my own peace of mind. Is there a way to do that without having to re-install the os?

Ubuntu does not enable root account by default ... you use sudo with first user account you setup. You can change this by opening a terminal and typing
andCode:passwd
will probably let you set the root passwdCode:sudo passwd root

Another way Cuz is to go to System>preferences>about me and open it up and use the change password button.
