    Video capture cards

I need to get a video capture card – pci or usb – to transfer some old video tapes to dvd.

My computer cpu is AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 2800+ (an early 32/64 bit chip) running at 1800MHz
. The built in video and sound is Nvidia and 1gig of memory.

    I am running Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit .

Where can I find a list of video capture cards that will be compatible with my setup, or do any of you out there use one that you would recommend?
The world is run by educated idiots - you can't argue with idiots, they have had years of practice.
