Why doesnt ubuntu desktop(xps) recognize password? Am I using the wrong format for userid? Is it encryption? I read my samba conf file and it said that there was password encryption. Heres what I have...Two desktops. One with windows(no problem logging on)one with ubuntu. And a Mac Laptop(wireless) The desktops are ethernet to dlink615 router. I am able to use "guest", but it doesnt allow me to see all I need to see. It also takes forever to logon. My CUPs printing is working.(dont know if this is pertinent)I did have an external HD attached to Ubuntu and finally had to unhook it from the linux and plug it into the windows desktop.SO I know its a linux issue. BUT now my Mac still "sees" the Hardrive altho it says that it "cant find original". I click on "fix alias" but its still there.
My userid is wth my password is zzzzzz. I have tried loggin on as wth@xps(xps is thename of the host)....doesnt help. Do I need to edit the samba.conf file, change theencryption?
