    Ubuntu: freezing/shutting down issues (i/o errors)

    Hey. Newbie to the Linux/Ubuntu world. Really like it and actually getting my techno-phobe wife comfortable with it.

    However, i thought that installing Ubuntu would solve all my problems with an inherited PC.

    It has worked well for a couple of months but I am seeing an issue with firefox closing on its own and when trying to restart PC it shows i/o errors.

    Maybe power supply? Cooling fan? Anything else?

    Any thoughts? really appreciate it.

    I have checked other posts and don't see anything exactly like my issue but also have looked at other solutions to be proactive on my end.
