How do I install my Belkin WiFi FSD7001 card using Ubuntu 8?

I first installed Fedora on my old Pentium 4 PC but had no luck in getting it to recognise the Belkin WiFi FSD7001 card. I read in some discussion forums that Ubuntu 8 was simpler in this respect.

I have no loaded Ubuntu but the wireless card is still not recognised.

    What's the next step?

Would using USB wireless card make any difference and if so what model comes supported by Linux?

BTW I do have the original Belkin CD which says it has the Linux driver on? How do i find it an install it (my DVD players do not seem to be working!)
