    Unhappy Add/Remove programs problem.

    Hi again, another problem.

I've searched all over the web for the answer to this, but none worked.

Im running Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn), and I get this problem.

"The information about available software is out-of-date. To install software and updates from newly added or changed sources, you have to reload the information about available software. You need a working internet connection to continue."

I pressed reload assuming i had to update.. and it gave me this error:

"Could not download all repository indexes"

"The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences is correct."

    Please respond fast, thanks.

Ubuntu 7.04 is no longer supported. You will need to upgrade to a newer version...
I need a new signature. This one is boring!

My blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

My guess is that because 7.04 is no longer officially supported, the repository has been moved or removed. I don't know if Ubuntu maintains an archive of it somewhere. Have you considered updating to a more recent version of Ubuntu?

Actually it looks like you are right and it's a old version you are running. To uninstall Ubuntu Safely when I tried wubi a while ago, go to your start button and right click and pick explore and look for Ubuntu in the program files I think. Any ways look for the Ubuntu folder. Left click to open it. Look for the uninstall exe. icon. Double left click to uninstall Ubuntu. Let finish. Reboot when asked to. Go to Wubi Download Wubi. Then reinstall Ubuntu 8.10 and you are set.
