Is the wireless card connected to the printer or is it connected to the pc: ie, is the printer going to be stand alone wireless network?
To set up the printer, there must be a web or other interface to it that allows you to set it up.
If the card is in the pc, look at linux and wireless networks.
It would also help if you gave the printer model.

the printer is an HP J4680 officejet. I should have said this is an ad hoc set up,
just pc to printer.. nothing else ,no routers. The printer comes with drivers and wireless set up stuff but its for Windows ,Mac. I am wondering how to do it ad hoc
with out the supplied cd. This is the stuff that makes Linux a drag.Hopefully it can be figured out.
