    i have ubuntu 8.04 (i386) .. my new pc didnot support and unable to boot in live mode.. is there any new version for my new pc...

    pc confi ;

    mercury nividia motherboard
    intel dualcore 2.5
    1 gb harddisk sata

    First off. Howdy and welcome to the forum. Can you tell me how you downloaded Ubuntu and burned it for starters. If you'd like a recommendation for another Linux OS you could try downloading Linux Mint 6.

    I never saw 1 GB SATA HD Drive.
    I guess its DDR2 Ram you are talking about.

    Simply verify the installation media.. 3rd option on live boot screen of Ubuntu.
    Then Check memory.

    If these are fine, try with another live distro.
    Never make any misteaks.
